The Arena!

A 40 Dungeon World for Minecraft 1.11 By GamingCats
Since we recently got the major upgrade for Minecraft in release 1.11, we thought it would be a good idea to create another worldmap filled with dungeons and all the latest creatures, items and surprises. And has luck would have it MCDungeon 1.7 is out and is compatible with Minecraft 1.11. Seems the stars were aligned!

The result is an amazingly intense landscape with dungeons of all sizes and types, populated with monsters, traps, puzzles, rewards, magic items and more. For example as you can see here

you are leaning over the edge of a clift with at least a dozen dungeons in sight. (Be careful and don't fall!)

If you look around you will see even more.

And of course here is a couple views at night.

How to install
When you download the zip file extract it to a location on your hard drive. It creates a folder called The Arena. Open that and inside it you will see a second folder with the same name. This is the actual world folder. Just select that inner folder, right click and select copy. That will put it into your cache. Then load Minecraft. When it loads choose options, then select Resource Packs.

At the bottom it will say Open Resource Pack Folder. Click that and a directory will open showing your resource packs (if you have any besides the default.). At the top of that window is a file path that looks like this

Click on .minecraft and you will see this

This is the folder with all the Minecraft components. The one you want is saves, right below resourcepacks. Click saves, and a folder opens with all your saved games. Inside that folder window right click your mouse and select paste. That will copy The Arena from memory (remember you copied it to memory cache after unzipping it) and into the save folder.

Then close that folder, reselect Minecraft which will still show your resourcepacks. Click Done. You are then at the Options menu. Click Done again.

Now you are at the main menu. Chose Single player and select The Arena saved game file and away you go!

To download the game file click the arena.zip. It will be downloaded to your downloads directory.

Now you can use the default texture which is fine. But the one we used for the screen shots and the video below is called RPackMG v.2.6.4. It's by MineiM. I found it on planetminecraft.com. It's a good quality texture using 128x128 resolution. You can download it from PlanetMinecraft or directly here. If you download it just copy it directly into the resources folder.

Finally here is a short video so you can see what the world looks like. And to help you out with all those battles I left a little gift at the top of the mountain you are on - you can see it at the end of the video!
